After receiving feedback from road users on the road safety at Lebuh Puteri, our consultant had conducted a Road Safety Audit proposing some traffic improvement measures, which is to improve the traffic flow along the main 100' road in Bandar Puteri. The audit was commissioned in 2006 and thereafter submitted to MPSJ. MPSJ has approved the proposal and the implementation of the approved proposed measures has already commenced. Amongst the upgrading works to improve the traffic flow are:

1 Incorporate traffic lights at the T junction of Lebuh Puteri & Persiaran Puteri
2 Upgrade the junction of Lebuh Puteri & Laman Puteri 2 (leading into Banyan 2 area)
3 Install transverse bars at some long stretches along the road at Lebuh Puteri
a) as you go along Lebuh Puteri from Puteri Avenue (beside Ixora)
b) as you go along Lebuh Puteri from Giant (after Columbia Asia Medical Centre and before Puteri 8)
4 Widening of some major junctions
(a) of Lebuh Puteri & Persiaran Puteri
(b) into Laman Puteri 2 (Banyan 2)
5 Lower down the shrubs at the median to further improve traffic visibility for road users

Currently, further improvement study by our traffic consultant and MPSJ is being carried out on other areas along the main 100' road such as Puteri 7.

In our efforts to further improve traffic management, we are constructing a flyover to bypass existing traffic lights in front of Giant. The flyover is expected to improve traffic flow to both the commercial and residential areas of Bandar Puteri. The construction will include road widening and relocation of drains and traffic lights as well. Details are as follows:-

a) the entire length of flyover is about 400m
b) the flyover road level is up to maximum of about 7.7m from road levels
c) maximum clearance of about 5.5m from the flyover beam soffit
d) "U-turns" for light vehicles from both side of the road before reaching the traffic light (beneath the flyover)
e) upon completion, there will be two lanes on the flyover and two lanes beneath it for each direction. Please
f) some lanes each on both directions will be closed to facilitate the construction works. Refer to Part Closure of Lebuh Puteri for updates.
g) the construction of a flyover is targeted for completion in April 2008
